Site IV – Covington Industrial Park

Lackawanna Township, PA

Covington Industrial Park, developed by First Industrial is a 900 acre multi-building development for manufacturing and logistics operations located along the I-83 corridor in Lackawanna County Pennsylvania.

MHA provided architectural design services for a 1.35 million square foot T-shaped automated distribution facility within Covington Industrial Park. Originally designed as an electronics fulfillment center, MHA subsequently adapted the facility for a robotics logistics operation serving health care products. It was subsequently expanded into the current fulfillment center operated by Amazon.

The building is configured in a T formation to accommodate a shipping pier to increase through-put capacity. The original facility was designed to be fully racked with 3 level pick towers and extensive conveyoring systems. The facility is designed with a full height MFL wall that extends the full 650 ft. width of the main building. Approximately 16,000 square feet of administrative offices are also included as part of the project.
