Women In Need Junius Street Playground

Brooklyn, NY

Women in Need (WIN) is the largest provider of family shelter and supportive housing in New York City. Their mission is to provide safe housing and services so women and their children can regain independence and a brighter future.

WIN’s Junius Residence is their largest transitional facility and together with Liberty Street serve over 400 families.

MHA designed the Junius Street playground for WIN with support from the Robin Hood Foundation. The playground is 17,000 square feet and includes passive and active play elements.  It is designed for a wide range of age groups and serves a population of over 1,000 children from the two shelters.
