Qatar Education City Convention Center

Doha, Qatar

The Convention Center at Qatar’s Education City is a 120,000 square meter (1.3 million square foot) mixed use cultural facility located near Qatar’s capital city of Doha.  QECC also includes venues to accommodate parliamentary assembly gatherings.

The facility features ten performance halls and meeting spaces including a 2,600 seat parliamentary/music/theatrical hall and a 4,000 seat banquet hall.

MHA provided project management, architectural design services and engineering design coordination with Baytur and Yamasaki for the development and implementation of an Arata Isozaki concept design.

MHA also developed the performance based life safety analysis, facility operational plan and was the overall manager of the design team, consisting of Yamasaki, Inc., Syska and Henessy, Thornton Tomasetti and twenty specialty consultants.
