Take the Field

All Five Boroughs, New York City

Take the Field is an award-winning, public/private partnership formed for the redevelopment of existing outdoor athletic facilities using private funding.

MHA planned and designed athletic fields at 38 New York City public high schools in all five boroughs for Take the Field.

The designs upgraded the existing fields to NCAA grade facilities including Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Football, Handball, Soccer, Volleyball, Lacrosse, and full Track and Field events.

The administrations of the individual schools were the designated clients, and the design team worked with stakeholders in developing state-of-the-art facilities that serve both the school and the community at large.

MHA worked as part of a Thornton Tomasetti team in the project design management, site planning and architectural design services.
